"CHEMMET" is an example of our response to a customer need. The handling and addition of lime products into the steel-making process can generate dust emissions and increase costs due to the disposal of this and other steel-mill products. With the application of a uniform, fused coating of iron onto a lime pebble (high calcium or dolomitic) dust losses are reduced and better metallurgical aspects of the melt are achieved. Additionally, a steel-mill byproduct is consumed in making this iron coating.
